What begins as somewhat of a whimsical children’s book exploring the foreign and culturally shocking life of an African/Nigerian adolescent develops into an enthralling drama full of twists, turns and the constant war to live life by your own terms. This book also acts as a spiritual handbook demonstrating the importance of a continuous existence of gratefulness and gratitude.

This is foremost a well-intentioned autobiography about the life and journey of “Okpowenya” , Mr. Asonye, a successful Nigerian immigrant. This is an incredibly solid book that I would recommend to any and all generations of Nigerians, international students in need of motivation, and all people who want to see a real example of God working in mysterious and wonderful ways.

Ibe Asonye! The more I read your memoir the more I admire your courage and tenacity! This book is down to earth. The stories are completely credible ,coherent, and compelling. The miracles you mentioned are not personal to you but it happens to all of us but it’s only with the eyes of faith that you call it miracles. To a nonbeliever it may be sheer luck. For a miracle to happen, there are three elements namely, the human, the material and the divine . In all your stories you projected these three elements. This is what makes that part of your story valid and credible. I’m not saying this to boost your ego but to be honest to your work academically. You have made an amazing impression on my self as a teacher for many who are now priests. Keep on the good work. This book is a legacy to be cherished by your children and friends from now on. All wisdom comes from God, but as a gift we should appreciate God who is the source of wisdom! Thanks. Fr Azorji.
